Revving Up: 2018 Canadian Car of the Year!
The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada(AJAC) selects the “Best New” vehicles that they feel are best in class in their category. The Canadian Car of the Year and the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year are chosen from this list. Many Canadians start with this list when it’s time to purchase a new or used vehicle. When car buyers are asked about their preferences, they most commonly mention factors. Factors such as reliability, fuel efficiency, budget, insurance costs, and vehicle safety. Research conducted before purchasing a vehicle can greatly impact the well-being of their family. Also, given that most Canadians own a car for an average of 9 years.

Nearly 100 automotive journalists vote to determine the 14 winners across different categories. Rather than selecting them based on a single journalist’s opinion. They evaluate and consider various factors such as performance, features, technology, and design. Furturmore, they evaluate fuel consumption and value for money over the last year.
Canadian Car and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year: Winners
The judges, after considering comfort and convenience, voted in a second round to determine the winners for Canadian Car of the Year and the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year. In the latest edition, AJAC honored the Honda Accord as the Canadian Car of the Year and selected the Chrysler Pacifica as the top choice for the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.
AJAC President Mark Richardson expressed excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to declare the Honda Accord as the Canadian Car of the Year for 2018, and the Chrysler Pacifica as the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year. They both truly deserve the title of the very best vehicles you can buy in 2018.”
